Ireland - North Coast Scenic Drive

Next morning we continued along the Scenic Coastal Drive stopping for a look at the ruin of what was once Dunseverick Castle built in the 1500s. As a result of the 1641 Rising, the Castle was destroyed by the English General Robert Monro and his troops. Prior to this castle there are records of a stone fort at this location being attacked by Vikings in 870.
